Happy Monday BOSLadies!
I hope that this email finds everyone in good spirits (spirits can be interpreted to be the alcoholic kind if that suits you). At the time of writing, I am currently enjoying a midday hard kombucha trying to differentiate my weekends from my weekdays as my mom’s therapist recommended to her. Personally, he and his family get dressed up in their Sunday best and take long drives during the time in which they normally would be attending church. What types of activities do you find yourself doing more of these days? I’ve been keeping track of my day to day in an attempt to make myself feel better about productivity but created a new method of analysis based on this Oscar Wilde quote from Gretchen Rubin’s weekly email: “Pleasure is Nature’s test, her sign of approval.” That is my new quarantine yard stick.
The Weekly Three
Something about “the line between giving a f*ck and being overwhelmed by anxiety”: An especially relevant piece by Brendan Leonard

Something about the caveats of professional authenticity: Thank you to Catherine for recommending this podcast episode from Adam Grant’s Work Life. He is an organizational psychologist who you might now as Sheryl Sandberg’s cowriter of Plan B. This episode is entitled Authenticity is a Double-Edged Sword. Here are the bullet points from his Linkedin post

Something about printed catalogs in the age of email marketing: I have conflicted feelings about catalogs these days. Part of me thinks that they’re irrelevant and bad for the environment, the other part likes having something to hold and thumb through with no blue light or clicking involved. This piece from The Atlantic uses Restoration Hardware to discuss how catalogs have persisted in the electronic era and why they’re probably not going anywhere.
Have an awesome week everyone
