Good morning and happy August!

A reminder that our monthly meeting is not tomorrow, but next Tuesday at Cannon. If you’re pressed for time (or simply don’t like reading – no shame!), check out the Sapiens page of Yuval Noah Harari’s website and watch a video or two to learn the most salient points of his book.

Here are your weekly three!

Something to experiment with: an article about how eliminating negative words from correspondence and conversation is a “subtle change [that] significantly improves the receptiveness” of your audience (credit to Alexandra for sending this over)

Something that will completely immerse you: the visual and emotional complexities of Guanyu Xu’s photo project Temporarily Censored Home, described in this piece by The New Yorker as “an act of reclamation, even rebellion”

Something to listen to: the podcast I Like Your Work. Hosted by Erika b Hess, this podcasts interviews all sorts of creative types. A healthy dose of positivity and creative inspiration for your day (another credit to Alexandra!)

Thanks to everyone who responded to my inquiry last week about favorite blogs and websites for inspiration and culture! More suggestions are always welcome. Have a lovely week!
