Hello BOSLadies and happy Tuesday!
Thank you for everyone who came out on the 5th and to Lam Partners for hosting! We had a great turnout and very insightful conversation about Becoming. Reading a memoir seems to generate much different discussion than what we have read thus far as a group, having been more study and research centric with our selections. I hope that you all are enjoying the change of pace as much as I am.
**Note: If you’re struggling to get through it, don’t feel guilty. Try the audiobook - HUGE game changer. As she narrates, Michelle Obama becomes your friend (as cheesy as that sounds)
Two shares from the February gathering:
An episode of More Perfect about RBG (not RGB, you lighting nerds) courtesy of Matt at Available Light
The Art of Asking by Amanda Palmer, as recommended by Catherine at Lam

A couple more items from Catherine:
The story of the Flint water crisis as told by the female “relentless physician who stood up to power”

Conversation surrounding this depiction of working women. (Catherine noted that in the article “they kept referring to ‘working women’ when the real obstacles of the disproportionate domestic responsibilities is for working *moms*”)
March meeting: we will be discussing the second half of Becoming and deciding on our next book. We look forward to one another’s input and presence regardless of whether or not he or she has had time to read the book. If anyone would like to host, please let me know. If not, we will do as we did for our January meeting and meet at a bar or tavern for dinner and discussion. Keeping with custom, we will be meeting on the first Tuesday of March, time TBD.
Thanks,
Amber Poirier
