Happy Monday BOSLadies!

Thank you to everyone who has visited our new BOSLady website and voted for next month's book! The site has 59 views as of this writing and now all previous Love Notes have been posted! If you've recently joined us or want to share our content with somebody new, it's all there for you :)

We had a tie for our June meeting book so we can all read whichever of the two below strikes our fancy and report back to one another at the next meeting. Cognitive Architecture is uber hefty and fairly expensive on Amazon but you have the option to rent it as an e-book as well. If there is an alternate site where you can purchase it cheaply, let us know! Also,if you're a Holiday fan, his book Ego is the Enemy is on sale through the end of the day on Amazon for $2.99 so I'm definitely snapping it up.

Stillness Is the Key - Ryan Holiday Cognitive Architecture: Designing for How We Respond to the Built Environment - Ann Sussman and Justin Hollander The Weekly Three

1. Something about routine: Today does not feel like Monday. In fact, it felt so unlike a Monday that I actually forgot about sending out this email today. I would say that if I was currently working, I might have a better sense of time but know for a fact that when I was working remotely pre-quarantine, I usually couldn't tell you how far into the week we were. Maybe because now I'm looking for them, I've seen a spike in articles addressing this state of mind that recommend creating some sort of routine to give yourself structure and awareness. A lot of them made me, a noted optimist and fairly gung-ho kind of gal, roll my eyes and mutter unkind things under my breath. This article was different though, because the author included ordering pizza on Fridays as part of a new routine. Can we get behind this? I found it very helpful and refreshing to see something undemanding and more fun as a suggestion. 2. Something about the multi-hyphen life: I HIGHLY recommend watching this interview hosted by The Wing with Ashley Ford and Emma Gannon, author of The Multi-Hyphen Life. Gannon's book addresses and offers guidance to those who wear many hats - women who podcast and write, who are full time caregivers and architects. Her book was published on April 14th and the timing could not be better, as the line between these different roles many of us have have effectively been erased during work from home. Ford and Gannon discuss setting psychological boundaries, how transformation isn't always necessarily pretty and that the nature of success is constantly evolving.

The Wing is hosting a series of Youtube Live (Live Youtube?) videos all week as part of Business Unusual which features Megan Rapinoe and Senator Amy Klobuchar among others. Incredible content and all totally free

3. Something about what it takes for a woman to become a CEO: Oxford's Saïd Business School did a study on females CEOs and put together five tips on how to achieve their level of success. This quote that opens the article sums up the findings: "'Our research shows that the critical factor in a woman’s achieving the top job is still active ownership of her own leadership career.'"

Thank you to Alexandra for sending this link

Thanks everyone,
