BOSLadies,

Memorial Day weekend is upon us! I hope that everyone has a restful yet exciting few days ahead of them and that we’re all geared up for the opening of summer season!! My husband says these longer days are “stolen time” for us and what happy thieves we are

If you’ve chosen to read The Alter Ego Effect for our June meeting, haven’t bought the book yet and read with Kindle, it’s one of Amazon’s current “great reads”. This means that if you buy it, you get a credit of the same dollar amount for another book in their “great read” selection. I find this thrilling, hopefully you all do too!

One housekeeping item: there are a pair of well attended events taking place on the first Tuesday of June, DLF’s Moveable Feast and BSA’s Rising Philanthropist Kick-Off. Since we like to see as many faces as possible from the club, we are moving June’s meeting to the 11th. As usual, if you’re able to host or if you have an idea of where we should meet, please let me know.

In other events, WiD is hosting Storytelling for Design on May 29th at the BSA Space:

Last but not least, I was introduced this week to Ellen Lupton, a writer, designer, curator and critic. Her entire body of work is germane to what we as a club seek to explore and discuss. Check out this article about last year’s exhibit at Cooper Hewitt design museum titled The Senses: Design Beyond Vision. Lupton published a book by the same name which definitely belongs on the BOSLady reading list.
